Where is Nepal Located?
Nepal, popular as the trekkers paradise, lies between the great alluvial plains of India and the cold plateau and wind-seared tablelands of Tibet. With a total area of 1,47,181 square km and roughly 800km long and 200km wide.

Nepali is the national language of Nepal. Apart from Nepali, there are hundred of local dialects spoken by people from various ethnic groups. However, people in urban speaks and understand English quite well. Most of people now speaks the selected international language like French, Spanish, Deutsch, Japanese, Chinese, and other.
How is the climate in Nepal?
Nepal has moderate Climate and can be visited throughout the year. The major seasons of Nepal are winter (December-February), Spring(March-May), Summer (June-August), and Autumn (September-November).
There is a dramatic variations in temperature with the variation of altitude.
However, the temperature of Kathmandu, remains pleasant all year round ranging approx. (15-30) degree Celsius throughout day and (2-18) degree Celsius duing night.

People and Religion

Nepal is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the Light of Asia. Hindus and Buddhists live together in harmony. Muslims, Christians and other nature worshippers, too, exist.

Nepal is home to over 60 ethnic groups and indigenous nationalities that have their own distinct culture, attire, tradition and lifestyle. These communities speak more than 100 local dialects making Nepal a great cultural and ethnical diversity. Nepal is a colorful country with a lot of festivals and celebration. There are not even a single week without a festival in Nepali calendar.
Currency & Foreign exchange
Nepali Rupee notes come in Rs. 1, 2, 5,10,20,25,50,100,500,1000 denominations. Coins come in 5 paisa, Rs. 1, 2 and 5 denominations.Foreign currencies must be exchanged only through banks or authorized money exchangers. The receipts of such transaction are to be obtained and retained. Visitors can exchange foreign currency at the foreign exchange counter at the airport upon arrival. Visitors other than the India nationals have to make the payment in foreign currency (non – Indian currency) in hotel, trekking agencies or travel agencies and for air tickets.
