Annapurna South Expedition 7219 m

Annapurna IV is located at the view of Annapurna IV. Annapurna IV lies in the heart of the Annapurna Himal and is situated between the summits of Annapurna II and Annapurna III by a spectacular ridge that connects all three mountains. This ridge is an amazing wall, which includes Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7,937m), Annapurna III (7,555m), Annapurna IV (7,525m), Gangapurna (7,454m) and Annapurna South (7,220m). The famous Machapuchare (fishtail) is also located in the Annapurna Himal.Above Camp I the route from Camp 2 to Camp 3 becomes steeper requiring fixed rope on some of the more difficult sections including a bergschrund that has to be crossed. Camp 3 is at an elevation of 20,500 ft and sits at the junction of the North Ridge and Summit Ridge. It sits on the "Dome" of Annapurna IV and affords us an incredible view of the Summit Ridge. At the crest 6,483m we will place our Camp III. Here the route turns sharp east and follows the Annapurna crest to the summit of Annapurna IV. The summit day above Camp III is long but not too technically difficult. However, there are some steep knife-edged ridges and cornices to negotiate so don’t think this will be easy. Above Camp I the slopes lay back. Glacier travel skills will come into play as we wind our way to the top of the buttress, establishing around 6,000m (19, 800'). From Camp II we will have spectacular views of the North Face of Annapurna II. From Camp II we continue upward till we reach the east-west crest of the Annapurna Himal. At this point the team will decide whether to place one more camp along the summit ridge or make summit attempts from Camp 3. The climb along the Summit Ridge affords us beautiful views of the Annapurna Sanctuary. It is a spectacular place to be. The climbing on this section will be very demanding as we will be climbing some steep sections on the Summit Ridge proper as well as traversing some steep slopes below the summit. We may also encounter some rock on the summit pyramid. After a short stay on the summit we'll descend to our high camp where we will spend the night. The next day we'll descend all the way to Base Camp

Trekking guide will assist and brief all your questions and confusion during trek. The company will provide you the best and authorized guide to make your holiday. Potters are very strong and poor Nepali people who will carry all your baggage wherever you go. Don’t Forget to tip them for their service.

Acclimatization

When NEAT plan your itinerary, we take everything into consideration about the altitude and other factors to minimize the chance of getting AMS.

Altitude gains-your trek is designed to gain around 600 meters (vertical) altitude daily.

Acclimatization - rest days are included in itinerary to help your body adjust to new altitude.

Each trekker must accept responsibility and trek slowly - observe the steps at which the porters and guide walks. There are no worthwhile prizes for getting to destination in record time - generally AMS.

Treatment: Mild symptoms - staying at same altitude may resolve symptoms. If there is no improvement, descend to lower level.

Severe (HAPE + HACE) - descend immediately, as failure to do so could result in death. If symptoms persist you may need to be carried to nearest medical facility or evacuated by helicopter.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend the purchase of trip cancellation and travel insurance. This comprehensive travel insurance provides coverage for trip cancellation and interruption, travel delays, loss of baggage and travel documents, baggage delay, medical expenses and emergency assistance.

Climate in Nepal is diversified depends on season. From the low level to highest point of the World, it starts from hot to cold region from South to North. If you are in autumn the weather is perfect and sky is crystal clear but in spring the weather seem little cloudy but the full blossoming Rhododendrons are awesome.
